Written by Neta Raz Studnitski

To access your account's information and settings, click on your initials at the top right corner of the screen.

Account Info

Your Account Info page includes the following fields and information:

  • First name / Last name / Nickname: Editable fields. You can adjust your names at any time. Please note: The names entered here will be visible to your students and administrators.

  • Email address: The Email associated with your account. This email will be used for login. Need to change the email address on your account? Please contact Support for assistance.

  • Login methods: If you have a unique password set up for this account, or an SSO with Google, Microsoft or Clever - this is where they will be listed. You can use this area of the Account info page to change your password, link additional auth providers, or unlink existing ones.

  • School: Here you'll find a list of the school sites, departments, or district organizations your account is directly associated with. If you're an admin in any of these organizations, an admin tag will be displayed as well.

  • Language: If you need to use Threads & Themes in a different language, you can set your language preference here. This will override the browser language while using Threads & Themes!
Please note: Language settings apply only to the native fields within the lessons & assignments platform, i.e. to website buttons and menus inside assignment pages, reports, and account information. Language settings do not act as a translator and will not change the language of input entered by a teacher or a student - i.e. questions, answer choices, reading texts, student responses etc. - text entered this way will need to be translated using tools external to Threads & Themes such as Google Translate, Browser-based translators, etc. (If your students need translations, try using the Student Translator tool)

To change the language settings in Threads & Themes:

    1. Select your preference from the languages dropdown list

    2. Proceed to click Save at the bottom of the page
    3. Language change should reflect immediately, if not - refresh the page and the supported site pages will appear in your language of choice

  • Role: Select from the dropdown

  • Position: Can be filled manually

  • Grades: Define the grade levels you teach, from the dropdown. You can select multiple.

  • Subjects: Define the subjects you teach, from the dropdown. You can select multiple.

Font Type

Utilize the font picker which includes fonts specifically designed for dyslexia. This accommodates users with different needs, enhancing accessibility and equity.

Available fonts:

  • Open Sans

  • Open Dyslexic

  • Lexend

  • Frank Ruhl

Standards

You can set default standards to tag and track student progress at any time:

  1. Click on "Select your standards" (or "Add Standards set" if any standards are already selected)

  2. Search for your state or organization, or choose from the list

  3. Search by subject, or choose from the list

  4. Check-mark the Grade Levels (if applicable)

  5. Your selection will be added to your account immediately. If you don't see it added, please refresh your browser's session.

If you need multiple standards, you will need to select them one by one. There is no limit to the number you can add to your account, so if you teach multiple subjects and grade levels, you can add all the relevant standards you need!

Manage Score Thresholds

When you access your account for the first time, the default score threshold will reflect a traditional grading framework (aka "Standard system score threshold colors").

You can click on Manage score thresholds to adjust these to your preference.

From there, you have the ability to adjust score thresholds in the following ways:

  • Change the color for each score range (click on the current color block and select from the displayed menu)

  • Remove score ranges (click the trashcan icon)

  • Add additional ranges (click Add score range)

  • Adjust each individual range of scores (type into the range fields)

  • Adjust category titles (type into the category fields)

Don't forget to click 'Save' at the bottom of the screen when you're done updating your score thresholds.

Note: at this time, all ranges must have a minimum score of 0 and a maximum score of 100.

Custom Score Threshold vs. Standard System Score Threshold

Once you have changed your thresholds and clicked "Save", these changes and the color coding chosen will take effect in the following instances:

  • View Responses page (teacher view)

  • Formative cards with total scores shown (both student and teacher views)

However, the standard system score threshold colors will override any custom colors defined by the teacher in the following instances, that are mostly in the student view while they are taking an activity:

  • Activity progress bar

  • Score pill in each question block

  • Checkmark animation

  • Correct/incorrect UI (after correct answers are returned)

Note: administrators have the ability to override score thresholds on shared Common Assessments.

Default Point Value

The point value selected here will be automatically applied to any question you create across all lesson assignments by default.
You can adjust the point value on individual questions when needed.

Default Assign Options

Save time when you assign your lessons by setting default assign settings. Any option selected here will be automatically applied to any assignment you create.

You can adjust the assign settings on individual assignments when needed.

Default Grading Method

The original default grading method on accounts is Answered only - meaning every lesson will default to this grading method and will require manual adjustment at the assignment level to switch to Include unanswered in score.

Teachers can switch their account's default grading method from their account's Settings menu. Once switched to Include unanswered in score - all lessons will default to this grading method and will require a manual adjustment at the lesson level to switch to Answered only.
